It used to be that ANY amount of kale was too much for my husband and I. But, having two vegetarian daughters did a lot to change both our diet and our palate, — especially when a great part of our family celebrations involves sitting around our kitchen table and sharing a celebratory meal.
It’s not that we didn’t EVER eat kale. It has long been one of our favorite ingredients in our morning breakfast smoothies. But, it’s pretty expensive to try to buy year around, so we decided to grow it. Well, it turns out to be relatively easy to grow here in Southern California, so we were very soon up to our necks in kale! This made our youngest pup, Beathan, quite happy (as you can see in the photo, above). He picks it and eats it fresh, every chance he gets. Unfortunately, too much kale in puppy means too much kale coming out of puppy, if you get my meaning. So, our quest for ideas for kale recipes began in earnest. I will share some of our favorites, here.
